

PROWIT
Modern communication technologies and services like Web 2.0 and geo-aware applications promise many advantages in analysis, design, implementation, and execution of business processes. However, those advantages are not available to the users, because the technologies are not integrated in typical business software.
Therefore, the PROWIT research project aims at developing new communication services and integrating them with business software through a central process collaboration service platform. This platform combines the different services to build a powerful tool. Business users access this platform to interact with the different services. The process collaboration service platform has an open architecture so that new services can be added by third parties.
PROWIT aims at supporting three important use-cases in context of business process management:
- collaboration in context of existing defined business processes
- ad-hoc collaboration in context of undefined business processes
- collaboration in context of process improvement projects
